Opened: February 1945 - to provide weather reports for exercise Muskox. Following the conclusion of the exercise it was kept open to continue providing weather reports for the Meteorological Department. Handed over to the Department of Transport, December 1949 since it had no function other than weather reporting and maintaining the airstrip.
