A photo from Gordon Rolfe's NWT&Y photo album from 1933-37.
Caption: 4 August 1935. VE4LM - GMR Ft Smith - VE4US - J. Milo Mercoai. This episode eventually led to GMR being transferred to Ft. Resolution NWT. Serum was needed for Mrs Ted Stroud, wife of S/Sgt Ted Stroud NCO i/c Ft Resolution radio station. Mrs Stroud developed blood poisoning (septicemia) in childbirth in Resolution and was moved to Ft Smith. Unfortunately Muriel Stroud died in Ft. Smith hospital.
